Stock standard “Triple Garage Shed Kits” are 2.4m in height, at Stockman Sheds we recommend a minimum of 2.7m - 3m in height. The extra height adds minimal cost and increases your overall cubic storage in your triple garage shed for the same slab cost and the same roof cost.

What size is a triple garage shed?
A standard triple garage is 9m × 6m — three vehicles side-by-side or two cars plus a workshop bay. Larger triples run 12m × 6m (three cars with extra storage at the rear) or 9m × 9m (three cars plus deeper workshop space). Stockman customises every dimension — there's no fixed range. Most triples are designed around the use case (cars + workshop, or cars + boat, or three different vehicles).
How much does a triple garage cost in 2026?
Most Stockman triple garages run $30,000 to $60,000+. A standard 9m × 6m × 2.7m gable triple sits at $30,000–$45,000; a 9m × 9m skillion triple with workshop space runs $40,000–$55,000; oversized 12m × 9m+ triples with mezzanine and extras push past $60,000. Triples are cheaper per square metre than two separate garages because the slab and roof scale efficiently.
Triple garage vs double garage with workshop — which makes sense?
Triple garage if you genuinely have three vehicles and want all three under cover. Double garage plus workshop if you have two vehicles and a serious workshop need — gives you a dedicated workshop bay with its own door, internal walls and power, separate from the parking bays. The cost difference is small; the layout difference is significant.
How tall should a triple garage be?
Same logic as a single or double — most off-the-shelf is 2.4m, Stockman recommends 2.7–3m for the same slab and roof cost. Go 3.3–3.6m if the third bay houses a caravan, boat or trailer with rooftop air-con. Skillion roofs let you push the high-side wall up to 4m+ if you need clearance for a hoist or tall vehicle in just one bay.
Do triple garages need council approval in QLD?
Yes — triple garages comfortably exceed every Class 10a threshold (10m² / 2.4m / 5m). Stockman handles the council application, certifier inspection and any overlay checks (character, slope, flood, bushfire) as part of the build. Larger triples may attract setback restrictions on smaller blocks; we check this during design.
