Once you’re happy, the order goes through to our Australian shed manufacturing facility. From here, expect around four - six weeks before the shed is delivered to you.

You can either assemble your DIY shed kit yourself, or enlist a local tradie to give you a hand.

On delivery you’ll receive comprehensive instructions to guide you through the build process! Please note our sheds are designed to be constructed by building professionals. If that’s not you, we recommend getting your favourite local builder to assist with the construction.

What's included in a Stockman DIY shed kit?
Every Stockman DIY kit ships with the full pre-engineered package: BlueScope Steel C-section frame cut and pre-drilled to your design, COLORBOND® cladding sheets cut to length, all bracing and fixings, gutters and downpipes, your choice of doors (roller, sliding or PA), assembly drawings and engineering certification. Slab, council approval and on-site labour are NOT included with kits — you handle those locally.
Do you ship DIY shed kits Australia-wide?
Yes — Stockman ships pre-engineered DIY kits anywhere in Australia. Allow around 6 weeks from order to delivery for kit-only jobs: manufacturing happens at our Toowoomba HQ, then freight ships on a flat-bed truck. Freight cost is quoted as part of the kit price (varies by destination — WA and remote NT cost more than QLD/NSW).
Do I need to be a builder to assemble a DIY shed kit?
No, but you do need basic construction skills, the right tools, and ideally a couple of mates to help. The kit ships with detailed assembly drawings; small sheds (under 6m × 4m) can be assembled by 2 people with hand tools and a ladder; bigger sheds need a 4-person team and at least a scaffold. If you're not confident, hire a local handyman or builder to do the heavy work.
How heavy are the components and what tools do I need?
Wall cladding sheets weigh 8–15kg each; roof sheets are similar. Frame components vary — small purlins are a 2-person lift, main columns and rafters can be 80kg+ and need 3–4 people or a Bobcat. Tool list: cordless drill with hex driver, tin snips, square, levels, ladders/scaffold, chalk line, safety harness for roof work. Stockman supplies all the structural fixings; you supply the tools and slab.
Is the warranty different on DIY shed kits?
The structural and material warranties are identical to a built shed: BlueScope's 30-year corrosion warranty on COLORBOND® cladding, Stockman's 20-year structural warranty on the engineered frame. The installation warranty is the difference — DIY kits don't come with one (because we don't install them). If something goes wrong during assembly, that's on the assembler. Engineering compliance is conditional on the kit being assembled to the supplied drawings.
