Go big on the design

When it comes to commercial sheds, the bigger the size the greater the functionality. A large floor area can accommodate oversized machinery and plenty of tools, keeping it safe and secure while also providing ample space to work with it. How big a shed do you need? Nail the colour

All our sheds are built with COLORBOND® cladding. This comes in a choice of 21 different colour tones, each one specifically selected to blend in with the hues of outdoor Australia. You can pick the colour that best fits your Commercial property.

Choose the right roof

Choose a classic gable roof, where two flat sides meet in a middle apex. Or go for a skillion-roof shed, which utilises a single, sloping pane that maximises internal space and is great for drainage. Our shed designer will help you with the height and style of your roof.

Add the extras

There are many add-ons you could include on your shed once the basic design and look is locked down. You can upsize or add more windows, put in sliding glass doors, add internal partitions, whirly birds, mezzanine floors or even a garaport.

What's the difference between a residential shed and a commercial shed?
Residential sheds are Class 10a — non-habitable domestic structures on residential land, typically smaller, with a focus on domestic storage and vehicles. Commercial sheds are Class 7a (carpark), 7b (storage/warehouse) or 8 (industrial production) — built for business operations, larger spans, heavier loads, often with mezzanines and office bays. Different building code, different planning rules, different warranties on the underlying use.
How much does a commercial shed cost in 2026?
Stockman commercial sheds typically run $80,000 to $400,000+. A small workshop / depot at 15m × 12m × 5m sits around $80,000–$140,000; a mid-range 24m × 18m × 6m warehouse runs $180,000–$280,000; large 36m+ industrial sheds with office mezzanines push past $400,000. Final price depends on wind classification, slab spec (32 MPa+ for commercial), gantry/crane loads, and how many sides are clad.
What slab specification do commercial sheds need?
Commercial sheds typically run 32 MPa concrete (vs 25 MPa residential) with rebated edges, piers under every column, and reinforcement matched to the loads. If you're storing heavy goods or running forklifts, the slab gets thickened with extra mesh and may need a vapour barrier under it. Stockman engineers every commercial slab to your specific use case — there's no one-size-fits-all.
Can I include office space and mezzanine in a commercial shed?
Yes — most commercial builds include some kind of office, smoko room or mezzanine. Common patterns: a 6m × 6m office bay at one end with its own entry and bathroom; a full-width mezzanine (40–50% extra floor area) for storage or workspace; a side lean-to for staff parking. Stockman designs the office and mezz into the engineering from day one — slab, columns, fire-rating where applicable.
How long does a commercial shed take to build?
Allow around 6 months from initial quote through to a finished, handed-over commercial shed — design, engineering, council approval, manufacturing, slab and on-site construction included. Commercial projects with complex Material Change of Use applications, fire engineering reports or crane gantry integration can run longer; we set realistic timelines at the quote stage.
