A Hodgson Vale Triple Garage
Check out this custom triple garage in Hodgson Vale, featuring 146m² of space, five Steel-Line roller doors and a huge centre bay.
If you’ve got room to spare in your backyard, why stop at a double garage? It’ll give you room to park your vehicles, but falls a bit short when it comes to storage space. Where are you going to put the mower and the tools?
Nobody who decided to upsize to a triple garage has ever regretted it. In fact, the third bay often becomes the hardest-working one in the shed.
Our customer in Hodgson Vale had a large block and wanted to maximise their available space. More storage, more room to work. A double garage wasn’t going to cut it, so our shed designers put together this triple-garage, gable-roof shed. Measuring more than 12m in each direction and incorporating five roller doors in total, this is a custom shed you want to take a look at.
Hodgson Vale Triple Garage Features
Big Shed Dimensions

These are the dimensions we landed on:
12m wide x 12.2m long x 3m high walls
More than 146m² of enclosed space makes for a very decent-sized shed. There’s space for multiple vehicles, trailers, storage and a workbench. Whatever doesn’t have a home inside the main property will find its way here.
Three Bays

Having three distinct front access points opens up options in how you want to use your shed. You’re effectively creating three internal bays that can each have their own function. One for parking trailers, one for parking vehicles (at 12m deep you can park them in tandem), and one for tools and workspace. This shed offers plenty of possibilities.
Massive Centre Roller Door

The centre door is a beast - a Steel-Line roller door measures 3300mm high x 5100mm wide. If you’ve ever reversed a big camper into a tight spot, you’ll appreciate how handy it is to have good access. This one will accommodate large vehicles, machinery and trailers while still offering breathing space.
Five Steel-Line Roller Doors

The centre door might be the attention grabber, but what really sets this shed apart is the total number of five Steel-Line roller doors. The main central door has two slightly smaller roller doors flanking it on each side, providing the classic triple garage facade.
Complementing these is a roller door on each side of the building. Whichever angle you’re approaching this shed from, you’ll have easy access to the internals. When you’re dealing with a 12m x 12.2m footprint, that range of access is very handy. It makes for seamless coming and going, and less shuffling of stored items or parked vehicles.
Plus, these are Steel-Line roller doors. They’re built tough and will handle years and years of daily use.
Colorbond® Ironstone and Dover White

We’re big fans of this Colorbond® tone combination. Darker blue-grey Ironstone® corrugated steel is used on both the wall cladding and on the roof. The roller doors, gutters and barge capping are all in Dover White®. The contrast makes for a real head-turner, particularly those three white roller doors against the dark cladding.
15-Degree Gable Roof

A traditional gable roof is a popular option with sheds in Hodgson Vale. It’s a classic look that suits both the suburbs and acreage properties, and tends to match well with existing buildings too. When you have a 12-metre span, the 15-degree pitch adds a nice amount of internal height in the centre of the steel structure too.
It’s a balanced look; it’s good for drainage, and it suits this property down to a T.
Easy Access Through a Larnec PA Door

Roller doors are for vehicles and big gear. Opening one up every time you forget a tool or your keys in the shed can get tiring.
The solution is a PA, or personal access, door. This owner added an 820mm Larnec PA door on one side of the garage. Finished in Ironstone®, it blends into the cladding nicely.
Simple and practical, this will probably be the most heavily used access point in the whole building.
Built to Work With the Block

Even if you have the space to accommodate a big triple garage, it still takes planning to get it right. Every block is different, and each one will require different levels of earthworks. This Hodgson Vale site required a bit of earthworks as there was some sloping ground to account for and retaining walls to construct.
Levels, drainage, access and existing buildings all affect where your shed should sit and how well it works once it’s built. Our shed designers take all of that into account when putting your shed proposal together.
Solid Concrete Slab

A triple garage 12m deep can hold a large number of vehicles. The concrete slab the shed is built on needs to be able to support them. We pour our shed slabs in high-density 32 MPa concrete, which is more than capable of taking the weight and regular traffic of a busy garage. It’s the same density concrete you find in bridges and roads, so you can be confident it will be up to the task on this Hodgson Vale garage.
Nearly 4.5 Tonnes of Steel

4,493kg of steel. That really puts the scale of this shed into perspective!
The frame is Australian BlueScope® Steel, same as every Stockman shed we build. We choose this raw material because it’s the best on the market, designed to withstand Australian conditions for decades. The bones of this building are solid as a rock.
