A Bluegum® Garage Shed in Cabarlah

Sometimes you just need more space. Whether it’s to park vehicles or trailers, store the dirt bikes or kayaks, or keep the work tools safe. Whatever it’s for, you need a secure shed that looks the part. It needs to last for generations, add value to your property and look fantastic.

This Cabarlah garage shed was built as a lifestyle overflow outlet — the house fills up, the tools and gear have to go somewhere. We built the double garage shed for them, as well as a matching 7m wide carport. That setup frees up the shed nicely for storage or workshop duties. Both structures blend in with the existing property in this lush part of Cabarlah.

Here are the stats on this Stockman Shed.

Cabarlah Garage Shed Features

Cabarlah garage shed features

We built this shed to work for the property, so every feature was chosen with that in mind — from aesthetics to ease of access and functionality.

Shed Dimensions

The footprint is:

7.5m wide x 10.26m long x 3.85m high

That’s plenty of floor space and a decent height for vertical storage too. There’s room for two vehicles or trailers to park side by side, with space behind them for tools and equipment. Boats, 4WDs, caravans — it’ll take them all. The floor plan opens up multiple options for work too, with ample room for benches and tools, and internal zoning a real possibility. For a Cabarlah acreage block, this is a shed that earns its keep.

Gable Roof at 22.5°

The 22.5° gable pitch gives the shed strong visual presence and is a practical choice too. The internal ridge height provides usable overhead space that works well for storing tall items. The dual slopes make for excellent drainage, which matters a lot during the Toowoomba summer storms. If solar goes on the list down the track, this roof will form a solid base for it.

Bluegum® Corrugated Iron Cladding

Bluegum COLORBOND cladding on shed

The walls and roof are both clad in corrugated iron in Bluegum®, a COLORBOND® colour that sits in the cooler grey-green spectrum. Visually, it blends with the surrounding landscape and existing property without competing with it. COLORBOND® holds its colour over the years, so there’s no fading or corroding with this shed. Built to match the intensity of the Queensland weather.

A Matching Carport

The double carport in the bottom right of the aerial shot was also built by Stockman Sheds. At 7m wide x 7.22m long, it adds covered parking for two vehicles and sits conveniently off the same concrete driveway as the shed. It shares the same Bluegum® colour profile too, giving you two separate structures with complementary aesthetics and functionality.

450mm Eaves All Round

450mm eaves on shed

Full 450mm eaves on all four sides. Generous eaves keep direct sun and rain off the wall cladding, which extends the life of the building and reduces heat load inside. They also give the shed a more considered, finished look — closer to the proportions of a well-built home than a basic storage box.

Two Steel-Line Roller Doors

Steel-Line roller doors on garage shed

Two motorised Steel-Line roller doors sit across the front face of the shed. The larger measures 3430mm wide x 3300mm high, and the smaller comes in at 2850mm wide x 3000mm high. Both are finished in Bluegum® to match the cladding. Steel-Line builds roller doors that handle daily use reliably and smoothly, and these tie into the front face of the shed cleanly. Many years of solid use ahead.

Larnec PA Door

A Larnec PA door at 820mm wide sits on the side wall in Bluegum®, blending into the cladding almost seamlessly. PA doors become invaluable to the day-to-day use of a shed — quick in-and-out access without rolling up the main doors every trip. We use Larnec for all our PA doors. Their quality and reputation speak for themselves.

Bradnam Sliding Window

Another supplier we rely on across all our shed builds is Bradnams Windows and Doors. They give us real flexibility in the number and size of windows and sliding glass doors we can add to a shed. For this garage shed, the owners opted for a 1505mm wide x 790mm high sliding window to improve natural light and internal airflow.

BlueScope Steel Frame

BlueScope steel frame shed

The structural core is a BlueScope steel frame, the same foundation we build every Stockman shed on. Engineered for Australian conditions and built to hold its shape for decades without issue. There’s no other steel quite like it. If you’re not building a BlueScope shed, you’re accepting second best.
