Cotswold Hills Shed Features
When our shed designers got to work on this fully-custom Cotswold Hills shed, toughness and usability were front of mind. Here are some of the standout shed features that were included in the design.
Large Footprint with Internal Partition
With great space comes great functionality. This shed is built large, accommodating a sprawling double garage with a next-door room which is separated by an internal wall and accessed through its own PA door. This multi-purpose space is perfect for lifestyle overflow, storage space, a studio, office - whatever you need it for!
Weatherboard Cladding
The owner decked this shed out in weatherboard cladding, giving it a neat, modern look that complements the existing structures. We love the subtle colour scheme they went with - it's easy on the eye and blends in with the peaceful surroundings.
Two Steel-Line Roller Doors
How good are those roller doors? They reach almost all the way to the ceiling in height, meaning tall machinery or vehicles can be safely parked and stored inside the shed. Manufactured by Steel-Line, they’re smooth to operate and proven to go the distance. The Colorbond® steel used comes in a choice of 21 colours, so it's easy to match it with the rest of the shed.
Gable Roof with Solar Panels
Gable roofs look good, allow for plenty of internal space and have excellent drainage capabilities. The homeowner in this case had told us of his intentions to incorporate a solar power system into his build. This made a gable roof the perfect choice - there’s plenty of space for the panels, and we could get the pitch just right to maximise their efficiency.
BlueScope Steel Frame
The strength of the shed comes from its BlueScope Steel frame. It’s the backbone of the build, giving stability and long-term reliability. With a frame like this, the shed isn’t going anywhere, even after years of use. We use BlueScope Steel on all our shed builds - it’s a tried and tested Australian brand of steel proven to go the distance in out tricky climate. If it’s not BlueScope, it’s definitely not built by Stockman!
PA Door
Personal access doors, or PA doors, are a convenient add-on that reduces the need to open up the big roller doors. They’re a secure way to manage foot traffic in and out of the shed. This build has two - one into the main garage area, and a second one into the partitioned-off room.
