Our shed designers had that in mind, plus a couple of other things - the owner has a thriving kitchen business, and he needed the space to store equipment and tools. It also needed to double up as a lifestyle overflow haven - somewhere for the dirt bikes and kids’ clobber to live.

The result is this Class 10 garage gable, an expansive shed with multiple access points and a breezy, well-lit interior. The owner is absolutely stoked with it, and here are a few reasons why.

10m wide x 14.27m long x 4.2m to the eaves

That’s a lot of internal space. Plenty of room to have multiple projects on the go, store vehicles, trailers and all the shed toys you want to keep safe (dirt bikes, kayaks, boats - whatever you’re into!) The high walls add clearance for taller equipment and shelving, giving genuinely useful vertical storage space.

Monument® Roof and Cladding

The wall cladding and the roof is all in COLORBOND® Monument®, giving a sharp and modern finish to this shed. It’s a colour that suits this kind of bushland setting far better than a lighter shade would. Eye-catching without dominating. COLORBOND® is a tried-and-tested local product designed to handle harsh Queensland conditions. This shed will still be looking tops in years to come.

Gable Roof with Space for Solar

With a gable roof over the full length of the building, there’s a long stretch of north-facing space ideal for a solar addition. This was important to the owner, who organised the solar install soon after the build was completed. With the amount of power tools going to be used in this shed, it’s smart thinking. Three Steel-Line Roller Doors

Access into a workshop shed is a cornerstone of its functionality. The three roller doors are a purposeful addition that will make this one easier to use. The largest measures 3600h x 5500w, wide enough for a van or larger vehicle. A second sits at 3000h x 3100w, and a third smaller door at 2600h x 2650w. The owner has options, depending on what needs to come in and out of the workshop. All three doors are finished in Monument® to keep the exterior cohesive.

A Quick Access PA Door

Backing up the roller doors is a Larnec PA (personal access) door, 820mm wide and finished to match in Monument®. It gives quick, easy access without needing to open a roller door to come in and out. Larnec builds their doors to a standard that keeps them closing properly year after year. This is a small detail on a shed, but it makes a big difference.

Ample Glazing for Natural Light

A sliding glass door and two sliding windows from trusted manufacturer Bradnams bring proper daylight into the workshop. Natural light makes a big difference to how a shed feels to work in. Bradnams are great, they give us flexibility in the size and quantity of the windows and glass doors that go into our sheds, which we can then pass on to our customers.

Tough BlueScope® Steel

The frame of this shed is made from BlueScope®, an Australian steel engineered to handle everything the Queensland climate throws at it. It’s designed to stand up to UV, humidity and heat without breaking down over time. If it’s not BlueScope® Steel, it’s not a Stockman. We use this raw material on every one of our sheds without fail.

High-Strength Concrete Slab

A workshop like this puts its floor through heavy daily use. Tools, machines, vehicles, trailers, foot traffic - you need a concrete slab that can keep up. We poured this one using high-strength 32MPa concrete, the same grade used in bridges and roads, well above the standard most sheds get. It’s built for decades of heavy use. The owner was going to add their own internal floor to this shed. They decided not to when they saw the quality of our finished concrete slab.

Extra Strong Brackets

Every bracket holding this frame together is 6mm laser cut and hot-dip galvanised, manufactured here in Australia. Stockman sheds carry 15 to 20% more steel through the frame than most builds on the market, giving the structure extra strength where it counts most. For a workshop that’s going to see years of hard use, that kind of overbuilt frame is what keeps everything solid long after a lighter-built shed would start to flex.
