Stunning Rural Shed in Adare

aerial view of adare shed

It’s just down the hill from our Toowoomba shed headquarters, so we build multiple Lockyer Valley sheds every year. Our team spent time in Adare recently, in the heart of the valley, constructing this stunning rural shed. We’re going to shine a bit of a spotlight on it this week and highlight some of the features we love.

Adare is home to sprawling rural blocks surrounded by farmland - countryside that’s as rugged as it is beautiful. Which is not far off how you would describe a Stockman Shed

Our customer here opted for a sprawling country shed built in the American barn style. It offers masses of internal space, rock-solid construction and head-turning good looks. Let’s take a close look at some of its features that really stand out.

Strong Adare Shed Features

This Adare rural shed has all the trademarks of a Stockman build. There are solid materials, a practical design and a finish that blends in with this lovely country property.

American Barn Style

This is a wildly popular design in Australia, easily recognisable by the tall middle bay flanked by two side bays. The American Barn design creates loads of usable height in the centre while maintaining a tidy footprint. It works well on any type of property but is a popular rural shed because of its space and versatility.

Three-Bay Design

three bay shed internals

Following on from the above point, the three-bay configuration gives the owner maximum flexibility. It makes it easier to zone the shed internals for different uses - for example the tall central bay suits bigger vehicles and equipment, while the two side bays could be used for storage or as workspace.

Large Footprint

The upshot of the three bays and the American barn design is a massive shed footprint. More space in a shed means you can do more with it - more storage, more room to work and less pressure on the main home on the property. When you’re living rural, more shed space is always a good thing. Here are the dimensions for this beauty:

14 metres wide x 10.69 metres long x 3.8 metres high at the highest point.

Covered Verandah

A portion of one of the three bays has been turned into a covered verandah - a nice lifestyle touch that further enhances the usability of the shed. It gives the shed that indoor-outdoor feel that is equally handy for work and play. A great spot for a barbeque or a space to quickly store machinery when the rain comes down.

Sliding Glass Door from the Verandah

The sliding glass door leading from the verandah into the shed is a classy touch. It improves accessibility while also letting the natural light flood into the interior. Using this door is quicker and easier than opening up the main roller door if you just need to duck in and out of the shed quickly.

Plenty of Internal Height

maximum internal shed height

We’re big fans of maximising on internal height here at Stockman Sheds. If you need more space, going upwards is a more affordable option than expanding the footprint. In this shed the tall centre bay is ideal for caravans, tractors or overhead storage, while also enhancing the airflow through the shed.

Central Steel-Line Roller Door

Steel-Line roller doors are the best in the business. On this shed a large roller door sits front and centre, providing smooth, secure access to the main bay. These doors look great, but over the years it's the quality we’ve been impressed with. Steel-Line has their reputation for a reason and you can’t go wrong with one of them on your shed.

Bradnams Windows

A set of Bradnams windows brings natural light and fresh air into the shed. They’re durable, low-maintenance, and keep the inside bright throughout the day. Bradnams give us plenty of flexibility in the size and number of windows we put in a shed. It’s great to be able to pass this choice onto our customers.

Colorbond® Roof and Cladding – Monument

colorbond shed cladding

As with all our sheds, the roof and walls of this Adare shed are cladded in Colorbond®. An Australian product, it’s designed to cope with our harsh climate, so this shed won’t buckle, sag or fade over the years. The owner went with the Monument® tone for the walls and roof, nicely offset by Dover White® gutters and barges.

Strong Brackets

Another feature we focus on for extra strength is our brackets. They’re made of 6mm thick laser-cut and hot-dipped galvanised steel, while many of our competitors are relying on 1.6mm zinc-plated brackets. Which one would you rather have in your shed?

BlueScope Steel Frame

bluescope shed

At the heart of the shed is a BlueScope steel frame - the backbone that any shed that’s going to last for generations will need. This steel is a local product, so its proven in our weather conditions. If you’re building a Lokcyer Valley shed and you want it to last, go with BlueScope.
