A Hamptons Shed on the Gold Coast? Check it out!

This was an unreal project to be involved in right from the get-go. The owners had a vision, which our designers could build on and work with, paving the way for our Gold Coast shed builders to make the magic happen.

So what was the vision? The owners got in touch with an idea to build an American barn shed done in a Hamptons style - you know, that airy, light and fresh aesthetic vibe from Long Island that’s perfectly matched with coastal regions. Could this be the first shed of its kind on the Gold Coast? Probably - we haven’t seen anything too similar.

The idea resonated with our team strongly, particularly given the uptick of interest we’ve been getting in American barns. Here was a proactive owner with a good idea who was keen to get the project underway. It was a good opportunity to show what our Gold Coast builder can do!

We want to show you what they achieved too. Take a look at the video below.

Gold Coast American Barn in Hamptons Style

There are a couple of things Dave points out in the video. For a start, Stockman Shed kits are 25% heavier than our competition. Some of that’s in the quality steel, but it’s also in our brackets. We use brackets so heavy and robust, you can stand our columns up in them, walk away and the columns will stay standing.

Another thing is the eaves that the owner Jim had added to his shed here. Eaves can really make a shed stand out aesthetically, helping you customise your visual look. That’s what we do at Stockman - give you the opportunity to tailor your shed so that it’s one of a kind both visually and functionally.

Dave points out the wire rope and turnbuckle bracing system we use in our sheds. This has a couple of advantages, one is that it really looks neater and tidier than the flat strap systems. It’s also much stronger and leads to better alignment between columns.
