A Quaint Farm Shed in Cambooya
The rolling farmlands of Cambooya, outside Toowoomba, are lush and fertile, stretching on for miles until they reach the blue sky above. This is Australia at it’s finest! Today, there is a new feature on the horizon - a fully custom Stockman Shed, a steel structure that blends in with the surrounding environment while stamping its own good looks onto the picturesque setting.
This was an awesome shed to build - I mean, who wouldn’t like to work with that view as your backdrop? It wasn’t just the stunning location though - this is a special shed, one that steps outside the norms to incorporate charming styling to go with its robust construction. It may have a bit of a fairytale aesthetic, but this farm shed is built tough, and will keep up with whatever farm activities are thrown its way!
Farm Shed Features
Some of the features we love about this shed in Cambooya include:
Drive-Through Lean-To
The lean-to at the rear of the shed has drive-through capabilities, perfect for busy farmers needing to come and go with a minimum of fuss. No reversing required! You can pull in one end with a trailer, tractor or ute, do what you need to do, then head straight out the other side. It’s a smart design feature that saves time, cuts down on hassle, and keeps things moving smoothly. It’s 6-metres long and 4-metres wide.
Steep Pitch Gable Roof
We designed the gable roof of this shed to have a steeper pitch than the norm, clocking in at 22.5º, which gives it a striking visual impact. It instantly draws the eye, adding a bold architectural feel to the structure that helps it make a statement.
But it’s not just about looks - a gable roof comes with multiple benefits. The steeper pitch allows for better water runoff during heavy rain, reducing the chances of leaks or water damage. Inside, the extra height creates more headroom and a greater sense of space. Plus, if you’re thinking about solar panels, a steeper pitch, especially around this 22.5º mark, can help you capture more sunlight to boost your system’s efficiency.
So, while it looks impressive, the design is also incredibly practical! The two skillion awnings on the side are at a 10º angle, nicely complementing the gable roof.

Front Verandah
What a place to take in the view of the surrounding farmland! With a solid concrete slab below and robust steel roof above, the 6-metre x 2.5-metre front verandah is a peaceful vantage point that’s as practical and durable as the rest of the farm shed. It’s not only a great spot to unwind, but also a safe, secure space for storing tools, machinery or anything else you need easy access to. Practicality - with a touch of rural charm!
