A New Farm Shed in Greenmount

Our shed builders have been hard at work putting up a large farm shed in Greenmount, just south of Toowoomba. She’s a real beauty, and the job is just about done so we thought it would be nice to share a few images with you. 

What we love about this shed is it ticks all the boxes on what makes a good farm shed. Let’s take a quick dive into what some of those characteristics are.

Shed Building Materials

Farming isn’t for the weak hearted, and farmers need tough and durable equipment to keep up. The shed is no exception. As with all Stockman’s sheds, this farm shed in Greenmount is made from 100% Australian Bluescope Steel and Colorbond materials. They’re created  with Aussie conditions in mind, so you can be assured of their resilience to the climate no matter where you’re located in Australia. 

Size and Design

A lot of planning went into this shed before we even broke ground. The result is a doozy of a design. For a start, it's a massive shed. This is important with farm sheds, because extra storage capacity is required for produce as well as machinery. A high roof and doors is also essential for moving equipment in and out of the shed. On this shed they opted for a number of immense roller doors for access. There’s also a covered awning down the front of the shed, which will be handy for storage purposes. 

Location

Get the size, design and location of your shed right and it’ll cover all your needs. You won’t need to get a second shed at any stage in the future, unless you really expand your operations. Location is important because your farm shed needs to be easily accessible for those big machines you got driving in and out of it. It also needs to be close to the action, so you’re not lugging equipment and produce over long distances.
