A Jasper® and Paperbark® Rural Shed in Pierces Creek
Designed for lifestyle overflow and secure parking, this rural shed in Pierces Creek has some eye-catching features.
Thick timber forests, soaring views and lush ranges typify the countryside in Pierces Creek, just to the east of Toowoomba. This is Australia at its finest - big skies with big acreages to match. If you live out here, a rural shed can be a life-changing addition to your property.
For these customers, this shed is the first of two that Stockman built for them. While the first one is a large workshop shed, this one sits next to their main residence and handles secure parking and lifestyle overflow. It blends a double carport with an enclosed and secure space where the valuable gear can be locked away.
The brief was clear that this had to complement the existing structure and not compete with it. Functional, without compromising on aesthetics.
Here’s how we achieved it.
Pierces Creek Rural Shed Features

The two-tone colour scheme, the distinctive roofline and the open-sided awning make this one of the more visually interesting builds in our recent portfolio.
Shed Footprint

The dimensions under the shed roof are:
Carport: 7m wide x 10.85m long x 3m high
Enclosed Awning: 3m wide x 10.85m long x 2.74m high
The carport adds plenty of room to park two vehicles, with additional space to store any other goods that need to be kept out of the sun and rain. The secure closed section is for secure storage, or a space to tinker on a hobby. Definitely enough room for a workbench in there!
The Roofline

The roof is one of the more eye-catching ones we’ve put up recently. The carport has a main gable that sits at 15°, while the roof over the enclosed awning sits at a 5° pitch. You get two distinct roof planes meeting at different angles, giving the shed real character. That soaring vertical height in the carport can be made use of with ceiling storage too at some point in the future - looks like a good spot to keep a kayak out of harm’s way.
Jasper® and Paperbark® COLORBOND®

Sublime - that’s how we’d describe the colour choice for this rural shed. The wall cladding is horizontal corrugated iron in Jasper®, a warm, earthy brown that sits naturally in the bush setting. The roof, barging and gutters are all Paperbark®, a lighter sandy tone that complements the walls and picks up the colour of the surrounding grass and rock. Because we’ve used Colorbond® for the roof and cladding, you can be sure this shed will hold its colour over the years to come. That’s what Colorbond® sheds do.
450mm Eaves

Eaves on the left and front faces extend to 450mm, keeping weather off the cladding and reducing heat load on those walls through summer. This is a well-thought-out addition, because the property would be getting full sun exposure on the hilltop. The eaves will help keep the interior cooler and prolong the life of the building.
Two Steel-Line Roller Doors

Two Steel-Line roller doors sit on the enclosed section, each at 2650mm wide x 2200mm high and finished in Jasper® to match the cladding. One sliding door sits adjacent to the garage, while the second is on the side wall of the enclosed space. This setup gives genuine access flexibility, and if both doors are open you’ll get nice even distribution of natural light throughout. Steel-Line make doors built for consistent use - these ones will give years of use.
Larnec PA Door

An 820mm wide Larnec PA door in Jasper® sits on the front face, blending into the cladding cleanly. As an entry point, this will get used the most - people can easily get in and out without raising a roller door. Larnec manufacture the best PA doors available in Australia and every Stockman build gets one.
Heavy-Duty Bracket Construction

Every bracket on this build is 6mm laser cut and made from hot-dipped galvanised steel in Australia. On big sheds like this the connection points carry a lot of load, so build quality is really important. Our sheds use 15–20% more steel than most competitors, and this is most evident in the bracket work.
BlueScope Steel Frame

As with all Stockman Sheds, the frame of this one is made from Australian BlueScope steel. There’s a reason we only use BlueScope - in fact, there are many reasons. It’s local, it’s tough as nails, it’s engineered for this climate and it’s rated to perform for decades. If it’s not a BlueScope shed, it won’t be built by us.
