A Happy Toowoomba Shed Owner
At Stockman Sheds, we reckon a shed is more than just steel and concrete. It’s about people. The first step of every shed project we embark on is to sit down with the homeowner and find out exactly what they have in mind. Every owner has their own list of must-haves for their build, which is why every one of our sheds is fully custom-designed to accommodate them.
Just as important as the shed itself is the service along the way. We put time into conversations, ideas, and tweaks until the final design fits exactly like it should.
That’s why we love this Toowoomba shed project – it’s got the owner’s personality stamped all over it.
The Owner’s Shed Wish List
When the Highfields homeowner came to us, they didn’t just want “a shed.” They had a vision. Our design team spent long sessions with them, going through the options and refining every detail. Bit by bit, the shed came together on paper before it was time for our shed builders to get their boots dirty.
Storage Needs
The first priority was storage. Like many households, they had accumulated more stuff than their house could contain. It needed somewhere to go! This shed needed to take the pressure off, with plenty space for tools, equipment, and all the things that make a property hum along.
Secure Vehicle Parking
Next on the list was vehicle security. The owner wanted reliable, lock-up space for cars and machinery, with the flexibility to park different types of vehicles under cover. They wanted the opportunity to securely lock them away if they were to go away on holiday for a while.
Workshop or Hobby Space
Another big request was a workshop area. A place to tinker, repair, or get stuck into projects without taking over the house garage. This was as much about lifestyle as practicality – everyone needs a corner to call their own.
Lifestyle Overflow
Finally, they wanted some lifestyle overflow. A place to barbeque and entertain and enjoy the peaceful garden. For this, the shed needed good access and a breezy, light and welcoming feeling.
The Shed We Delivered
With the wish list locked in, our build team got to work. We’ve put together hundreds of sheds across South East Queensland, and that experience shows. From farm sheds on the Darling Downs to lifestyle sheds on the Coast, our designers and shed builders know how to get it right.
Plenty of Space
This double skillion shed has a big footprint:
10 metres long
11 metres wide
Heights of 4.5 metres on the left side and 3.38 metres on the right.
That’s ample floor pace and vertical space for everything the owners had in mind.
Materials Used – BlueScope and Colorbond®
One thing we don’t compromise on at Stockman is the quality of our raw materials. They’re always Australian and always top-notch. This shed, like all our others, is built with a frame of Australian BlueScope Steel, with the roof and wall cladding being pure Colorbond® materials. These steel products are proven to go the distance in the Australian climate. On this build, the walls are in a Woodland Grey® tone, while the roof is Shale Grey®.
Double Skillion Roof
The shed features a double skillion roof, giving it a modern edge and plenty of height. The clean lines suit the property and the extra clearance makes it feel open and spacious inside. This is a great roof for drainage purposes, and it also offers lots of space if they want to install solar panels at a later date.
Double Garage Roller Doors
We fitted double garage roller doors at two different heights to accommodate everything from cars to taller machinery. Easy access and solid security were top of mind here, and these doors deliver both. They come from Steel-Line, a company who always deliver the highest quality of roller door.
Personal Access Door
A PA door was added for everyday use. It’s the quick entry point that saves you rolling up the big doors just to duck in for a tool or two. This handy feature is manufactured by Larnec, Australia’s leading PA door producer. We use them for all our personal access doors.
Bradnams Sliding Glass Door
To tick the lifestyle box, we installed a Bradnams sliding glass door. It floods the shed with natural light, opens up to the outdoors, and brings an indoor-outdoor element to the interior space. This feature really gives the shed that X-factor.
A Happy New Toowoomba Shed Owner
The finished shed ticked every box. More importantly, the homeowner is really stoked with the result. That’s what matters the most for us at Stockman Sheds. We’ve got a cohesive team here, from the designers in the office to the builders on site. Each one of us works with the same goal: creating happy shed owners.
The best payback isn’t just standing back and admiring the structure. It’s hearing the owner talk about how it makes their life easier, more organised and more enjoyable. That’s why we do what we do.
