A 28m Long Pierces Creek Farm Shed
A 28m long all-Monument® COLORBOND® large farm shed. Five Steel-Line roller doors, open-bay machinery storage and a BlueScope steel frame.
Some farm sheds are built to handle a bit of overflow. This one was built to handle everything. At 28.28 metres long and 12 metres wide, it’s a serious piece of infrastructure on a working Pierces Creek property. A big farm shed like this changes how a property operates.
The brief was straightforward: maximum equipment storage, built to last, all in Monument® COLORBOND® from top to bottom. Five roller doors, two PA doors, a full-length open awning and an enclosed section with an internal partition.
This is what our designers put together.
Pierces Creek Farm Shed Features

Every spec on this build was chosen for a working farm environment. We went large, with no compromises on access, clearance or durability.
Shed Dimensions

The numbers on this large shed speak for themselves:
12m wide x 28.28m long x 4.2m high
That’s a substantial footprint. The 4.2m wall height gives plenty of clearance for large farm machinery. That’s pretty essential on a working farm. We love how this shed is divided into a secure enclosed section and a series of open bays for easy access. Throw in an awning running the length of the enclosed section, and you have masses of covered workspace.
Gable Roof

A 15° gable pitch over a 12m span gives this shed real presence. The ridge height adds internal volume well above the 4.2m wall height. This means more space for vertical storage and better airflow in the Queensland heat, further enhanced by the positioning of three whirlybirds on the roof.
All-Monument® COLORBOND®

Everything on this build is in the Monument® colour tone from Colorbond®, from the walls to the roof, gutters, barge capping, roller doors and PA doors. It’s a deep charcoal that looks good against the Queensland bush and red soil. On a working farm it hides dirt, oil and the general wear of daily use far better than a lighter colour would. Colorbond® steel sheds stand up to the full range of Australian conditions without the finish breaking down over time. You get both the looks and the longevity.
Five Steel-Line Roller Doors

Five Steel-Line roller doors give this shed multiple access points. One sits on the end wall, and at 2.65m is wide enough for a vehicle or equipment run-through from end to end. The main face carries three doors, each at 3100mm wide x 3000mm high, while a fifth door leads from the enclosed area into the open bays. Five roll doors provide easy access whichever angle you’re approaching the shed from. They’ll easily handle daily farm traffic.
Two Larnec PA Doors

Two Larnec PA doors, both at 820mm wide in Monument®, give foot access into the enclosed section at two separate points, one on the end wall, one on the open bay side. On a shed this size, having dual entry points for foot traffic is a big convenience. Larnec build the most dependable PA doors available in Australia and they’re a standard inclusion on every Stockman build.
Open Bay Section

The open bay section runs off the left end of the shed and is where the heavy machinery lives. Tractors, excavators, trailers can all be accommodated, and can get in and out quickly without having to open up roller doors. The open face gives easy access and the 4.2m clearance handles whatever you pull in. This is a practical setup for a working farm with large equipment moving around.
Enclosed Section and Awning

The enclosed section is for secure storage. Vehicles, tools, anything that needs to be locked up at the end of the day goes. Five roller doors and two PA doors give access from multiple points, with more access meaning more functionality on a big shed like this.
A 3m wide awning runs along the right side of the enclosed section at 3.94m high, giving a covered transition zone between the open yard and the roller doors. It’s useful for wash-downs, maintenance work or staging equipment before it goes inside.
Heavy-Duty Bracket Construction

The bracket connections visible in the interior shots show what’s holding a 10,786kg structure together through Queensland weather year after year. Every Australian-produced bracket is 6mm laser cut and made from hot-dipped galvanised steel. On a 28m span carrying five roller doors and a full-length awning, there’s a heavy load on those connection points. The brackets need to keep up. That’s why our sheds average 15–20% more steel than competitors.
BlueScope Steel Frame

A shed this size needs a frame you can rely on without question. The BlueScope steel frame running through this build is rated for decades of performance in Queensland conditions. This is local steel made in Australia, so it’s engineered to hold its shape year after year. If it’s not made of BlueScope Steel, it’s not a real Australian shed.
