Generous Dimensions
We’re fans of a big shed here at Stockman, so it was a pleasure to upsize this one. Here are the dimensions:
15m wide x 10.19m long x 3.7m high
With those dimensions, there’s the floor space to accommodate multiple vehicles, the room for a dedicated workspace and still space for storage shelves. Big shed = more functionality.
Gable Roof
A gable roof is a versatil choice that’s equally at home in the suburbs or on a rural acreage block. The 15-degree pitch gives this backyard shed a classic profile that is eye-catching as well as practical. Drainage abilities are solid, and the raised ridge means lots of vertical height inside which makes it feel even larger than the footprint suggests.
Classic Cream™ and Basalt® Colour Combination
The wall cladding is Colorbond® Trimdek in Classic Cream™, running vertical, with corrugated iron roofing in Basalt®. Ridge, barges and gutters are all Basalt® too. This is a nice combination for a residential area - it doesn’t try too hard, it simply blends in nicely with the surrounds and the existing structures on the property. The darker roof and trim provides a nice and defined look, while the cream walls pick up the daytime light nicely. For a Toowoomba shed, this just works.
Three Steel-Line Roller Doors
Three roller doors, all finished in Basalt®, cover the main face of this shed. Two standard openings flank a wider centre door at 4.2 metres, giving you the flexibility to drive in something large without committing the whole front wall to a single oversized opening. Larnec PA Door
One Larnec personal access door in Basalt® sits on the side of the shed, clear of the roller doors. It’s the door you’ll use most of the time. Quick access without lifting a roller door every trip sounds like a small thing but it changes how you actually use the shed. Larnec make solid, secure PA doors and we fit them on every Stockman build.
Sliding Windows
Three sliding windows from Bradnams bring natural light into the shed and give you cross-ventilation when you need it. Two of them include fibreglass fly screens, which is a smart inclusion if you’re spending real time in there. Good light and airflow make a meaningful difference in a working shed, particularly through summer. These windows are framed in Basalt® to match the rest of the trim.
Foil Insulation
Full foil insulation lining across the roof reflects radiant heat before it gets into the shed. This keeps the interior significantly cooler through summer and reducing condensation through winter. On a big backyard shed like this, this is a smart decision.
Polished Concrete Slab
