We just put the finishing touches on this lifestyle shed in Highfields, Toowoomba. Now this is a property that gives good vibes - there are peaceful gardens and an established main house that looks great.
We had to design and construct a shed that seamlessly fitted into the mix. After extensive consultation with the owners, we landed on the design and our shed builders went to work.
The result is a shed where practicality and comfort co-exist, where new possibilities abound. The owners have got more than a storage spot here - this is a true lifestyle shed that can be used for weekend barbeques, weekday working, or just keeping things tidy. The owners were big on detail with this shed, and we love that. It’s got some seriously cool features to go with its solid build and versatile design.
Expansive Dimensions
This is a large shed, offering plenty of room for storage, projects, or even setting up as a lifestyle retreat. The internals measure 13.27 metres long x 6 metres wide x 3 metres high. That’s masses of room for the owner to sue as they please. Parking vehicles, storing tools - and still space left for a workshop or leisure zone.
Full-Length Lean-To Verandah
Giving a further boost to the usable space is the full-length verandah. It runs the full 13.278 metres length of the shed, while being three metres wide and 2.74 metres high. It’s perfect for shade, airflow, and outdoor living - a spot to enjoy the afternoon breeze on a deck chair, or an extra covered area for work and storage.
Colorbond® Roof and Cladding
Colorbond® corrugated iron has been used for the roof and cladding. This is our go-to shed building material, because it’s tough and resilient and gives us 21 sublime colours to choose from. The owners in this case went with Dover White® for the roof, giving it a fresh, clean look that reflects the sun nicely. The wall cladding is Southerly®, a subtle tone that blends with the surroundings and the existing building on the property.
Triple Roller Doors
Three Steel-Line roller doors were installed across the front. They give easy access for vehicles, equipment, or whatever needs to be stored, and make moving things in and out simple. Having multiple doors also improves the flexibility of how the shed can be used day to day.
Bradnams Windows
For natural light and ventilation, the shed features Bradnams windows. They’re a strong, reliable, and low-maintenance option. Bradnams gives us a lot of flexibility in what we offer shed owners for their windows - we can make them as big as you need and include as many as you want.
Sliding Glass Door
Adding to the lifestyle side of the build is a sliding glass door, also from Bradnams. It creates a nice smooth flow between indoors and outdoors, letting more natural light pour in too. It’s a practical addition that makes the shed feel more open and inviting.
Gable Roof
A gable roof is a popular shed choice because it’s practical and looks good. We can adjust the pitch to suit your tastes or requirements - for example, if you want to put solar panels up there, we will adjust it to the optimum pitch. Gable roofs are great for internal ventilation and external drainage, making them as functional as they are good-looking.
BlueScope Steel Frame
Behind it all is a BlueScope Steel frame, the backbone of the shed. It keeps everything square, strong, and dependable for decades of use. A frame like this means the shed is ready for whatever the future throws at it.
PA Door
For quick access, a PA door has been fitted. It’s sturdy, secure, and saves having to roll up the big doors for a simple trip in and out.
